A New Teaching Experience

Leesylvania State Park, on which is located Freestone Point, is a 508 acre park with nearly three miles of water frontage on the Potomac River between Neabsco and Powell's Creek. It has a great history dating back to prehistoric times.

Today, it serves as a hidden gem of Prince William County where people come to relax and enjoy nature. It's many historic trails give visitors a chance to get some outdoor exercise through hiking, cycling, or canoeing.

I have had the honor of interning this fall semester with Leesylvania's Education Specialist, Maritza Rivas. With her guidance, I have learned different methods of educating the public about natural sciences and habitat conservation.
